KNITTING

Two months after we started at the Brighton Mini Maker Faire, we have completed the seven furlongs of the East Laine.

TA DA - THE EAST LAINE IS FINISHED
Reading from right to left, the above is the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Cliff Furlongs of the East Laine. The empty area above the Sixth Furlong is the Breach Furlong of the Hilly Laine - from Eastern Road in the south up Park Street and across Queens Park as far north as Queens Park Terrace, then back down Freshfield Road.

By mid-October we only have the Sixth and a small section of the Fifth Furlong left to knit...

Thanks to Barbara knitting up the tricky part of the Third Furlong in next to no time, we only have three furlongs left to complete.

I hope you agree that the variation in the shades of the naturally dyed wool only adds to the map's charm.
Could we knit the Little Laine before Christmas I wonder...

END OF THE LAINE
The great news is that we have finished knitting the first of Brighton's five Laines and we're about to start on the Little Laine, aka the St James's area.
Do get in touch if you would like to knit YOUR street.
